| Well, I can actually say that after 3 months I finally feel moved in. That is not to say that I don't have a couple of things left to do, but they are small things, and ones I keep putting off, like filing the huge pile of papers on the desk in the bedroom. It is a relief to finally be at the point where it is only maintenance that is needed to make the apartment look nice, and it definitely helps me to relax and give more time to the kidos. So now all we need to do is remember to submit the fix it request we have for our broken silverware drawer, and we will be good to go. Feel free to stop by anytime! :)
Chloe celebrated her first birthday in June. It was a small affair and unfortunately the four of us were sick, but she still seemed to have a nice time. Although she didn't care too much for her cake, she did like whip cream with strawberries so she had her fill of sugar. Her personal favorite gift is her pink and purple tea party set which she plays with quite often. It is so cute to see her with her tapping her cup with her spoon and trying to take the tea pot lid on and off. If anything tries to get away from her, she just uses her foot like a third hand to keep things close by. It is such a kick to how much she uses her feet, she has even stuck her big toe in her ear once, too funny, and Noah has been doing "this little piggy" with her and she thinks it is so funny. Music is another favorite of her's and if there is a little toy that has a tune she particularly likes, then she does a little dance wiggle every time it plays. Overall Chloe is such a happy baby, loves her beauty sleep, and big brother, says dadadada and mmmmmm, and it crawling very well. What a cutie pie...happy birthday little girl!!
Wow, I can't believe that I finally figured out how to put pictures on here...cool!
| Hi all, here is a picture of my kidos. This was taken on 4th of July, when Chloe was only one week old! Noah is leaning over to giver her a kiss. He was a little hesitant back then, but he isn't any more. :) He even takes out his paci to give her a kiss, an honor that Daddy and Mommy do not always get. Try kissing your child through his paci someday, it's a little hard, but hey, at least it's not slobery. I'm just glad that he has figured out that is what his lips are for since his "kisses" used to be with his cheek.
Oh, and cute story of the day! Yesterday Noah insisted that I change Chloe's diaper on the living room floor with the items he had taken out of the diaper bag. No big deal to me, it wasn't a poopy one, so down she went. Noah then played peek-a-boo with her with one of the clean wipes, and then helped me clean her up with it when he was all done with the game. What a blessing to my heart, and I can already see how Chloe's face lights up more when she sees Noah...ahh the makings of big brother love. I just hope he stays so loving and doesn't turn into a Thumper someday (watch Bambi for understanding)!!
| Ah, the terrible twos...who knows why it exists, but I will admit that it changes your sweet little toddler into something not so sweet. :) My take on the situation is that the set of 4 two year molars comming in at a slow pace causes these sweet little munchins to loose it. (Can we say children's tylenol...unfortunately you can only get a small alloted amount these days with all the druggies mixing concoctions, and all the while we have terrible twos out there who could be not so terrible with a little medical aid. Ok, side track..sorry.) Unfortunately, my Noah seems to be inering this stage. He seems to be teething these days, and with his constant companion for 6 weeks gone home, his little Aunt Sarah, mommy having to split time with him and Chloe (though he loves her to distraction), being tired of staying in the house (mom is still on a 3 hour nursing schedule), learning how to say no and mine and applying them to his life, and who knows what else, have been making my little guy half naughty and half nice. Ah, well, this to shall pass so they say. And lets pray that it does.
On a brighter note my little Chloe is starting to sleep through the night!! She started at the end of last week, and then we moved her to her crib in her room from the bassinet in ours and the joy of all night sleep ended. I couldn't figure it out, we had totally regressed, but it has been hot this week, and I was keeping her cool. Ah, but then I remembered something I had figured out a few weeks before and forgot. She likes to be snuggled up when she sleeps, and even though it has been extremely hot, her little tempeture system is not quite up the par yet. So I kept her room cool, and swaddled her up in her PJ's and now she is happily sleeping through the night again! Thank you Lord for simple reminders to sleepy mommies!
| I know that seems silly. Hi ho, Hi ho...is lounging some kind of drudgery? I mean, who wouldn't like to be ordered to lay around and do nothing all day by their Dr.? But after nearly a month (one month this Friday to be exact) of bed rest it begins to feel more like work than play. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the fact that I get out of doing the dishes, laundry, etc... But laying around looking at the dirty dishes isn't that fun either. I mean, this is my job we are talking about here. I am a wife and mommy, and the home is my workplace. And yet I am forced to watch my in-box get full while my brain tells me it is time to get things in order, or is that pregnancy hormones...ever hear of "nesting" yeah, it's real! So at times I rebel and do a little here and a little there, and that is when my body reminds my brain that I am on bed rest for a reason, and not to be selfish or prideful, but rather gratefully lay down on the couch with the cool air blowing in the window and say thank you to whoever the Lord has provided to help take care of me and my little ones for the day. Still I am hopeful that this will be the last week of bed rest required as I move in to my last month of this pregnancy, and the confidence of knowing that little Chloe will be ok to come out into the big wide world whenever she is ready! Thank you Lord for your provision and protection, what a blessing they are!! | | |
| Well, I'm not giving any excuses this time for not posting, I just go in spurts. :)
This time I
am posting because I have great news!! We are having a
girl!! Yeah, now we are going to be an even family for a while,
but we may end up odd! Ok, ok, bad attempt at a joke, but I
thought it was funny. :)
We are
trying to get Noah used to the idea of being a big brother, but it will
be a whole lot easier when he does not have to talk to my belly, and
can actually see his little sister. Only four more months now,
and then our new little addition will be here, what a blessing from the
LORD!!!
